Delaware, located in the Mid Atlantic region of the United States, is a beautiful small gem of a state nestled between New Jersey and Maryland. Bordered by the scenic and relaxing Delaware Bay, as well as having a partial coastline on the Atlantic Ocean, Delaware is an often overlooked spot for a vacation. For those seeking a trip as a couple, however, this small state has much to offer. Cozy inns and other resorts nestled in this area offer many different spots for romantic destinations in Delaware.

If you are looking for a truly luxurious yet relaxing and intimate place to stay, try the Inn at Montchanin, located right outside of Wilmington, Delaware. This resort is far more than just a place to stay at night. Montchanin is actually a village that exists as a historical monument to times gone by. The 11 houses and other buildings in the Montchanin Village have been restored and, where needed, recreated to their original forms. These buildings date from between the year 1799 to the year 1910. The entire village was once part of the Winarthur estate.
